Cimarron is seeking an Expediting Specialist to support a nuclear energy program in Oak Ridge, TN. This position is supporting a 1-year contract. This opportunity offers a competitive salary and the opportunity for additional cash-in-lieu of benefits.

This position is supporting a 9-80 schedule with every other Friday off!

Key Duties:

• Contact suppliers to obtain the timely submission of engineering data and to follow up on material acquisition, production progress, and shipment.
• Expedite to engineering for the timely review, approval, and return of engineering data submitted by suppliers.
• Evaluate production schedules and progress reports from suppliers to determine if their programs and work progress meet job site requirements.
• Provide early warning to the Expediting Supervisor of supplier deficiencies or schedule slippage.
• Compile data needed to prepare the critical items reports or other supplementary reports as required.
• Coordinate the accumulation of data from project expediters and issue reports for the expediting group.
• Represent expediting at project team meetings.
• Maintain a working file of expediting related documents and memoranda of conversations to record expediting activities.
• Maintain a system to initiate follow-up actions at appropriate times.
• Provide information for area expediting assignments for prime and suborders as necessary.
• Update customer Procurement System (BPS) in a timely manner.
• Review material receiving reports against shipping documents to verify that material has been received at the job site.
• Assist in tracing missing material.
• Monitor project requirements and the issuance of material requisitions and other project and procurement actions affecting material deliveries.

Required Skills, Experience, and Education:

• Cimarron employees are required to follow federal, state, and local laws regarding COVID-19 practices, as well as customer requirements.
• Ability to obtain a Department of Energy badge.
• Knowledge of standard computer applications, including Microsoft Office.
• Skilled in preparing clear and comprehensive correspondence and reports.
• Ability to work with engineering, construction, and other procurement team members.
• Understanding of production methods and how to stay abreast of all supplier fabrication steps.
• Familiar with expediting points of order for pre-award and post-award meetings with suppliers.
• High School diploma or equivalent and 7 or more years of progressive, related work experience including but not limited to Procurement and Contracts preferably in an engineering, procurement, and construction environment, or Bachelor’s degree and 1 or more years of related experience.

Additional Requirements for Mid-level:

• High School diploma or equivalent and 9 or more years of progressive, related work experience including but not limited to Procurement and Contracts preferably in an engineering, procurement, and construction environment, or Bachelor’s degree and 3 or more years of related experience.

Desired Skills, Experience, and Education:

• Proficient in interpreting schedules to ensure that realistic milestones are established, required activities occur on time, and the interface between activities is maintained.
• Proficiency in using standard software applications, using the expediting module of the Bechtel Procurement System (BPS), and knowledge of other procurement modules.
• 2 or more years of Bechtel Expediting and/or Materials Management experience.
• Skilled in verbal and written communication skills regarding technical and production matters with both project and supplier personnel.
• Possesses shop expediting experience, and significant experience in project expediting or other procurement-related functions.
• Familiar with developing and tracking metrics.
